One bag. Don't hold it at zero.
How a match works
- All qualified players drop into the same arena, FOMO PLAZA. One player starts with the Bag.
- The Bag holder tries to tag someone. When a tag lands, the Bag transfers instantly. There are no controls — every avatar runs, dodges, chases and tags on its own (seeded AI). You watch.
- A countdown runs every round. Whoever holds the Bag when it hits zero is eliminated.
- The game resets with a shorter timer and repeats until one player is left. The last one left wins.
Default countdown: 20 s in round 1, 2 s shorter each round, never below 9 s. With four left (FINAL 4) it's 8 s; the FINAL TWO gets one 10 s round. A round may publish its own timer settings on its page before entries open.
The arena shrinks as players go out: at 12 the outer paths close, at 6 only the central plaza is left, at 4 it tightens again, and the final two meet in a small rounded final arena. In the final two, the first player eliminated loses — the other wins immediately.
Rounds take 4–32 players (24 by default). A full match lasts about 3–7 minutes.
Entering a round
Link your Fomo identity once (we never ask for your Fomo password, seed phrase, private key or session cookie). Then press Enter round. Each round publishes its requirement — for official rounds that's usually posting a thesis on the round's token on Fomo during the entry window. Some rounds may be open entry, token-hold or invite-only.
- One entry per Fomo identity per round. Rounds close when full.
- If a round doesn't reach its minimum number of players when entries lock, it's either delayed (a limited number of times) or cancelled — the round page says which.
- Qualification never judges what you wrote, how you trade, or how big your account is.
Prize model
- A round only shows FUNDED ✓ once its prize is verifiably locked on-chain in the prize vault before the match. Unfunded rounds don't open; rounds still unfunded at lock time are cancelled.
- The winner is paid from the vault to the reward wallet linked to their Fomo identity, after the signed match result is verified. A payout happens once. PAID ✓ appears only after on-chain confirmation, with the transaction link.
- A payout can be held for review if the winner's identity is suspended or flagged for abuse (duplicate identities, forged proofs). Bots are never paid.
- Exhibition rounds and practice have no prize.
Fairness
Every entrant has the same chance before the match starts. Your token holdings, PnL, wallet size, profile age, followers, thesis quality and popularity never touch the game — your @handle is only a label.
Randomness is commit–reveal: the seed's fingerprint is published when the round is created, the seed itself when entries lock. The match is a deterministic simulation of that seed and the entrant order. The winner is never picked first; it emerges from the simulation, which anyone can re-run. Every round has a fair-play page that verifies the whole match in your browser.
Void matches & cancellations
If the authoritative game server fails before it has stored a reliable result — a crash, a restart mid-match, or its own re-simulation not matching — the match is VOID:
- no winner is declared and nobody is paid — we never fabricate a result;
- the pre-funded prize is refunded from the vault to the funder;
- the void reason, seed reveal and entrant order stay published on the round's fair-play page.
An admin can cancel a round only before entries lock. After that, nobody can edit, replace or re-run a result. Results that were stored and signed are final.
Practice & bots
Practice Tag is open to anyone, with no prize and no thesis. Bots fill the empty seats up to 16 players. Bots exist only in practice and development exhibitions — they can never enter an official prize round. Practice doesn't count toward the Hall of Taggers, but your first finished practice round does count as a referral for whoever invited you.
Fair conduct
- One person, one Fomo identity. Entering with several identities, sharing an identity, or submitting forged thesis proofs disqualifies you.
- Referral farming (self-invites, many invites from one network) is flagged and doesn't count.
- Replayed or forged entry tickets are rejected by the server.
